About The Role

Contract Length: 2 years (renewable)

 

Start Date: ASAP & September 2021

        El Gouna (Arabic for 'the lagoon') is a popular resort town situated along Egypt's Red Sea, near Hurghada, an area which falls under the 'Red Sea Riviera'. It's stunning scenery is comprised of 10km of sandy coastline and 20 islands which are surrounded by clear turquoise lagoons which are connected by canals and bridges. The area is popular with holiday makers, families, professionals and water sports fans as well as being a renowned kite-surfing, wind-surfing and scuba diving area. El Gouna is Egypt's most environmentally friendly town.

         Downtown El Gouna and the affluent Abu-Tig Marina are home to countless restaurants, bars and boutique shops and are popular areas for visitors and residents to eat out and socialise. The school and it's accommodation are within walking distance of both of these areas, as well as a short distance to the beach to soak up the year-round sunshine.

Available Teaching Positions: 

  • English Teacher (KS3-5) with ability to teach other subjects such as History and Sociology (Job Ref: EGET)

  • Maths Teacher (KS3-5) with ability to teach other subjects such as Accounting and Economics (Job Ref: EGMT)

Responsibilities include but are

not limited to:

  • Prioritising pupils’ progress and Student Achievement while clearly communicating the objectives for all lessons to students. Creating an effective learning environment using a variety of teaching/instructional methodologies which strive to oversee the development of students of all abilities.

  • Maintaining the highest teaching standards, keeping order and discipline whilst implementing Classroom Management Plans and monitoring students' social development, safety and welfare.

  • Maintaining and producing evidence of planning as and when required as well as keeping accurate and complete student records.

  • Communicating, consulting and co-operating with other members of the school and parents/guardians to ensure the best interests of students.

  • Reviewing and evaluating students' progress as well as one’s own teaching and learning strategies, methodologies and programmes (Reflective practice) in line with the Board expectations and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree (minimum) in relevant subject (Maths/English/Economics/Accounting/History/Sociology or BA Ed)

  • Appropriate Teaching Certification: PGCE/BA Ed/Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Ability to speak English at idiomatic level

  • Excellent Computer Skills
